DREAMY SANTORINI
GREECE YOGA ADVENTURE
Santorini stands out as one of the most stunningly beautiful and magical islands among the famed Cyclades in Greece. With its dramatic cliffside villages, rich history, volcanic landscapes, and ancient lore, Santorini exudes a magnetic allure. It’s no wonder it’s on everyone’s bucket list—it’s sure to take your breath away, just as it did me! Join me on this magnificent Greece Yoga Adventure.
We are staying in the most picturesque cliffside village of Oia, where every corner feels like a living masterpiece. The village features charming blue domed churches, cliffside cave homes carved into volcanic rock and the best sunset views. There are plenty of narrow streets to wander, the famous fort to explore, a gorgeous little harbor, and a lot of steps to keep you extra active.
The caldera of Santorini, is a true marvel of nature that has captivated visitors for centuries. Formed by a massive volcanic eruption over thousands of years ago, the caldera is a vast crater (mostly submerged) stretching for miles along the island’s west coast.
Explore the other cliff top towns of the capital of Fira, Imerovigli and Firostefani, which all provide tremendous views. There is even a hike along the cliff top between the towns.
Along with the famous archaeological sites of Akrotiri and Messa Vouno, there are other smaller villages, some cosmopolitan, some more traditional, some with vast vineyards to explore. Soaking up the villages’ distinctive topography, whitewashed houses and alleys vs lava-black terrain, is a rewarding experience that one might say is unique!
WHERE WE ARE STAYING
The family owned traditional boutique hotel is in the heart of the most picturesque village of Oia. It’s situated next to the main square of the village’s church, within walking distance to all the shops, sights and restaurants. The hotel itself looks like a small whitewashed village, exactly what you’d expect to find in Santorini.
It has a very peaceful atmosphere where you can easily retreat from the bustle of the village.
A gorgeous pool with lounge chairs is the ideal place to relax with a book and retreat to after exploring. The pool has another terrace with more sea views.
The roof-top yoga terrace has magnificent views of the Caldera and Aegean Sea along with stunning sunset views.
It provides the perfect outdoor yoga setting, inspiring us to draw from the elements of nature, connect us deeper into our yoga practices and into the heart of who we are.
There are 2 sets of stairs up to the yoga terrace. You need to be steady on your feet and able to climb stairs. All the bedrooms and apartments are different with details listed below.
**Please note the hotel is not for our exclusive use and common areas will be shared with other guests.**

Things to note about where we are staying in Oia, Santorini
Oia is a small clifftop village with stunning views and narrow streets. These meander up and down so you need comfortable footwear with grip. Good news, absolutely no high heels to pack!
The streets are paved but you need to watch your step. If you chose to, there are a lot of steps exploring all around due to how these towns are built into the cliffs. This is what makes its so unique. Santorini is also the most popular and famous of the Greek islands which does make it busy with tourists. I found the best and most beautiful time to walk around is early morning (we will do some morning exploratory meditations) and later in the evening. Shops stay open late too.
Santorini is a volcanic island so mostly black stone beaches. The sea is crystal clear.
What to Expect on a Yoga Retreat?
A yoga retreat is the perfect combination of traveling without the hassle of figuring out all the logistics. This retreat is at a small hotel in Oia which is the prettiest town in Santorini. We are private use of the upper terrace for yoga practice. Otherwise the common area space is shared with other guests including the pool.
Everything on retreat is optional (even the yoga). You decide how much you wish to participate. But there is the healthy focus for your mind and body with daily practice offerings. It is a super opportunity to delve deeper into your yoga practice and to understanding yoga and meditation on a different level and ways to incorporate it into your everyday life.
Times of classes may change depending on the group and activities. Breakfasts are included and 4 dinners out at local restaurants. This gives you the opportunity to sample other food on day trips or visit other local restaurants. Alcohol is permitted but respectful consumption and behavior is required. Extra food and beverages can be kept in bedroom fridges.
Enjoy free time to relax when we are not doing trips. Massage and energy healing sessions can be booked.
Aside from yoga practice which is guided by Elaine, participants are responsible for what they do with their free time.
Who is it suitable for?
Single travelers, friends, couples are all welcome. If you are a go-with-the-flow type of person who has a good sense of humor, is up for a bit of adventure then this retreat should be a good fit. If you want to have a unique experience, be open to new experiences then sign up!
However, if you know you are high maintainence, if you need someone to do things for you all the time, if you are use to staying at hotels, resorts, high end places, then this most likely is not the trip for you!
