The HeART of Tuscany

HeART of Tuscany
Where Yoga Meets Creativity
Join us for the HeART of Tuscany Retreat—a soulful journey where yoga, creativity, nature, and the timeless beauty of Tuscany come together in perfect harmony.
As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of our very first Tuscany retreat and our sixth return to this magical region, we’re excited to introduce an inspiring new creative dimension to the experience.
Why HeART of Tuscany?
HeART is where the heart of Tuscany meets the artist within.
More than a yoga retreat, HeART of Tuscany is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and awaken your creative spirit. Through yoga, meditation, and inspiring art sessions, you’ll quiet the mind, deepen your intuition, and discover the joy of creating without judgment—all while immersed in one of Italy’s most beautiful landscapes.
Award-winning Irish contemporary artist Melissa O’Donnell joins Elaine to guide the creative journey. The yoga and art sessions are thoughtfully woven together, complementing one another through movement, mindfulness, colour, and self-expression. Rather than focusing on the finished piece, the emphasis is on the experience of creating and the freedom that comes with it.
No previous experience in yoga or art is necessary. Whether you’ve never picked up a paintbrush or have an established creative practice, you’ll be encouraged to explore at your own pace in a welcoming, supportive environment. As always, every activity is optional, allowing you to create the retreat experience that’s right for you.
This retreat is especially close to our hearts. Elaine and Melissa have been lifelong friends since childhood, and bringing their shared passions together in Tuscany has been a dream collaboration. They can’t wait to welcome you for a week of inspiration, laughter, meaningful connection, and unforgettable memories.

Embrace the serene beauty of Tuscany’s enchanting Maremma region, where the pace of life naturally slows and the rolling vineyards, olive groves, and mountain views invite you to simply breathe.
From the moment you arrive at Le Pianore, you’ll understand why we’ve returned six times. We fell in love with the people, the land, the culture, the incredible food, and the peaceful energy that fills this special place.
There is a quiet magic here. Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, you’ll nourish yourself with exceptional farm-to-table cuisine, thoughtfully guided yoga, meditation, and creative art sessions designed to awaken inspiration, presence, and joy. It’s the perfect setting to reconnect with yourself while leaving feeling deeply restored and creatively renewed.
Both the yoga and art experiences are suitable for everyone—from complete beginners to seasoned practitioners and artists. You’re encouraged to move, create, and explore at your own pace, and as always, every activity is entirely optional. This is your retreat, and you’re free to participate as much or as little as feels right for you.
You’ll also have the opportunity to experience Tuscany through the eyes of an artist. Guided en plein air sketching and watercolour sessions invite you to respond to the region’s extraordinary light, colours, and landscapes while discovering your own unique creative expression. No previous artistic experience is necessary—only curiosity and a willingness to explore.

Nestled between the medieval hilltop villages of Montelaterone and Monticello Amiata, Le Pianore is an award-winning organic wine estate surrounded by woodlands, vineyards, olive groves, and mountain streams. With spectacular views, untouched natural beauty, exceptional hospitality, and delicious cuisine sourced largely from the estate’s organic gardens, it is a haven for yoga, creativity, relaxation, and meaningful connection.
One of the reasons I continue returning to Le Pianore year after year is because of the people. From the very first visit, I felt genuinely welcomed, cared for, and completely at home. Our hosts have the biggest hearts and embody the warmth and generosity that Italy is so beautifully known for.
Over the years, they’ve become much more than hosts—they’ve become my Italian family. It’s something every guest comments on, and it’s a big part of what makes this retreat feel so special.

A yoga retreat is the perfect combination of traveling without the hassle of figuring out all the logistics.
Everything on retreat is optional (even the yoga). You decide how much you wish to participate. But there is the healthy focus for your mind and body with daily practice offerings. It is a super opportunity to delve deeper into your yoga practice and to understanding yoga and meditation on a different level and ways to incorporate it into your everyday life.
Times of classes may change depending on the group and activities. There will be no evening class after one of the day trips.
Breakfasts and dinners are included. Lunches are extra.
Alcohol is permitted but respectful consumption and behavior is required. We are on a vineyard so you will be drinking their wine!

Aside from yoga practice which is guided by Elaine, participants are responsible for what they do with their free time.
Day trips are included but again if you don’t want to go on one then just advise Elaine.
Who is it suitable for?
Single travelers, friends, couples are all welcome. If you are a go-with-the-flow type of person who has a good sense of humor, is up for a bit of adventure then this retreat should be a good fit. If you want to have a unique experience, be open to new experiences then sign up!
However, if you know you are high maintainence, if you need someone to do things for you all the time, if you are use to staying at hotels, resorts, high end places, then this most likely is not the trip for you!
